JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to make a difference as a support assistant for people living in BmSS, Housing with special services? We are looking for new colleagues who want to provide support to individuals in their daily lives, both in and outside the home.

At Björkbacken's residence, there are 10 places for adults aged 18-65 with our target group, individuals with acquired brain injuries and mental health issues. The support needs of our tenants vary, ranging from full ADL (Activities of Daily Living) care to more verbal support and guidance. The goal is for those living here to receive individualized support to live as independently as possible, promoting health and rehabilitation.

The work as a support assistant involves providing the residents with individually tailored support through a low-arousal approach, as well as encouraging and motivating them in their daily rehabilitation and life management. Some residents are in great need of care and require assistance with transfers. As a support assistant at Björkbacken, you will closely collaborate with the healthcare team, which consists of a nurse, physiotherapist, and occupational therapist. Your tasks also include medication management according to delegation, social documentation in the Treserva system, and some other administrative tasks.

Some of us encounter barriers when the world is not designed according to our way of functioning. As a support assistant, it is your role to support tenants in their participation and create opportunities to influence decisions and interventions. You provide daily support in everything from communication, stimulation of leisure activities to household chores. Your role is to adapt your support and contribute to a good and independent life. You collaborate with other individuals around the tenant, such as guardians, social workers, relatives, and healthcare professionals.

By establishing and following implementation plans, you ensure that the tenants' needs are in focus. They receive a safe home with the opportunity to live like everyone else. In your role, you are responsible for motivating and stimulating the person's independence and development.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability field that includes at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or a combination thereof equivalent to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and service for people with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.

Experience working with the target group of acquired brain injury and/or mental health issues is required.

Communication is an important part of the job, which requires you to have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

Previous experience with feeding tubes/respiratory machines and knowledge of transfers is advantageous.

If you have experience with any of the following methods: AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication), LAB (Low-Arousal Approach), MI (Motivational Interviewing), Clear Pedagogy, ESL (An Independent Life), IBIC (Individual Needs in Center), this will be to your advantage.

You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You base your actions on everyone's equal value and create a good atmosphere in the meeting. You have an open and positive attitude as you prioritize the needs of the user/customer. You easily adapt your working methods based on changing conditions and new information.

OTHER

Attach a study certificate or diploma for the requested education. Selection and interviews and employment will begin during the application period. Appointment is subject to the condition that the position does not need to be claimed in the administration or the city's restructuring work.
